On July 16th, idol group PASSPO held their one-man live, “ViVitto Natsu Shichatte IindeSKY?!“, at the SHIBUYA-AX. Before the performance, the girls held a press conference making a surprising statement about becoming a ‘bald idol’ if their 2nd single, “ViVi Natsu” didn’t reach number one on the music charts.
Challenging themselves with SHIBUYA-AX’s special formation, this was PASSPO’s first time performing at the venue. The girls commented, “We are happy to be able to stand on such a big stage. We will do our best to show PASSPO’s power.” PASSPO member Tamai Anna enthusiastically stated, “I got the performance down from today’s rehearsal, but the stage is so big that if I don’t take big steps, I won’t make it to my position! The ten of us are going to stand on this stage together, so I want to show our power. I will do my best to not lose to the stage.”
Makita Sako appeared in soccer uniform, to show support for Japan’s team (Nadeshiko Japan) in the ‘FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011‘. She voiced her support saying, “Being a woman myself, I think its amazing! Just like ‘Nadeshiko Japan’, I want PASSPO to be active in the world.”
When asked about their attendance at “JAPAN EXPO 2011” in France, PASSPO answered, “There were many passengers (fans) at the airport, and they put stickers of us members on our t-shirts. We felt a different kind of love than we experience in Japan.” The presence of fans in France brought happiness and reassurance to the girls.
PASSPO will release their second single, ”ViVi Natsu”, on August 24th. Negishi Ai, the group’s leader, says that she wants to deliver PASSPO’s feelings to the passengers through this single. The girls are aiming for “ViVi Natsu” to be number one. When the press inquired, “If the song doesn’t reach number one… do you have any commitments?“, one of the members suddenly blurted, “Yukki will go bald!”
The target, Fujimoto Yukimi said with confidence, “I like the bald style, but if I were to go bald, I don’t think the agency will agree… Don’t worry, we’re going to be number one!”
