DIR EN GREY Collaboration with the Role-Playing Game "Wizardry"

DIR EN GREY - who are in the middle of their Fanclub Only Tour “「a knot」only TOUR 2011 THE DECOMPOSITION OF THE MOON” - are working on a collaboration with a well-known role-playing game called “Wizardy” on their latest “Wizardry Online” series.

"Wizardry", which was developed in 1981 and marked the daybreak of computer gaming, will celebrate its 30th Anniversary this year.  In the past 30 years the game has been ported to many other platforms and has seen various spin-offs.  This summer we will see the latest installment, “Wizardry Online”, come to birth.

The collaboration between DIR EN GREY and “Wizardry Online” was announced at the Wizardry 30th Anniversary Talk Event and “Wizardry Online” Announcement Party carried out in Odaiba, Tokyo on Saturday, May 21st.  This fascinating news was brought to light by the game video that was premiered before the announcement showcasing DIR EN GREY’s song “ZAN” from their single “Hageshisa To, Kono Mune No Naka De Karamitsuita Shakunetsu No Yami” (released Dec 2009) that was specially arranged to be used as the theme song of “Wizardry Online.” This interesting collaboration between DIR EN GREY - who have been consistently expressing the pain of humans and the world around us, the reality of life and death - and “Wizardry” will definitely pique the interest of fans from both parties. There will be new developments of this collaboration in the future so stay tuned!

Single “LOTUS” released in January 2011, and a new single “DIFFERENT SENSE” coming out this June 22nd.  There have been talks from the band members themselves about a new album coming our way after their 7th album “UROBOROS” that was released in November 2008.  Definitely a band worth checking out!
