Hey! Say! JUMP tops Oricon weekly chart with “Magic Power”

On September 27, it was revealed that popular group Hey! Say! JUMP’s 8th single “Magic Power” (released on the September 21st) sold 218,000 copies in its first week and topped Oricon’s Weekly Single Ranking for the week of October 3rd.

This is their eight consecutive single to top the Oricon Charts since their debut song, “Ultra Music Power” (released back in November 2007). This is also their second consecutive single to sell over 200,000 copies for its first week since their previous single, “OVER” (sold 265,000 for its first week, released back in June 29th).

Their latest single was the Japanese single for American animation movie “The Smurfs” featuring the voices of member Yamada Ryosuke (18) and Chinen Yuuri (17).

As for other member activities, Yaotome Hikaru (20) will be releasing a new album along with his fictional band “A.N.JELL” from his starring drama “Ikemen Desu ne” under the title “A.N.JELL WITH TBS Friday Drama ‘Ikemen Desu ne’ MUSIC COLLECTION” on the 5th of October.

Hey! Say! JUMP releases full PV for “Magic Power”

Hey! Say! JUMP are gearing up to launch their latest single, “Magic Power“, on September 21st, and to boost anticipation, they’ve released their new PV!
The group has already performed on several music programs and a radio rip was released earlier this month.But that’s almost nothing compared to seeing the boys flutter around in this ’70s-inspired video.

Listen to a radio rip of Hey! Say! JUMP’s new song, “Magic Power”!

The full audio for Hey! Say! JUMP’s new song “Magic Power” has just been unveiled! “Magic Power” is the title of the group’s latest single and will be released on September 21st. The cheerful tune was also chosen as the theme song for the upcoming movie “The Smurfs“, which star members Chinen Yuri and  Yamada Ryosuke as voice actors.

Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri attends the preview screeing for “The Smurfs”

On August 30th, Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke (18) and Chinen Yuri (17) attended a preview screening event for movie “The Smurfs”, which the two participated in with voice acting.

At this event held at TOHO Cinemas, the two walked on a ‘blue carpet’ to match the theme of the blue smurfs from the movie and Yamada gave a high-five to the fans as a service and said, “I was successfully able to walk like a Hollywood star.” On the other hand, Chinen commented after hearing the screams of his female fans, “Oh god! I am nervous,” and expressed his feelings to the reporters.

As this was Yamada’s first time to voice act, he said, “When I watched the film, I thought to myself, ‘Is that really my voice?’” and gave his honest opinion regarding his voice acting.
