DIR EN GREY Revealing Details on Re-Mastered DVD and First Blu-Ray Contents!
On Januar 1st, 2012, DIR EN GREY will be releasing their re-mastered album "UROBOROS" and their first Blu-ray disc "UROBOROS -with the proof in the name of living- AT NIPPON BUDOKAN", which will both be dropping in stores at the same time.
The new version of DIR EN GREY's "URORBOROS" is a fully re-done version of the album released in November 2008, which will include a longer version of "SA BIR" amongst others. A special version of "BUGABOO" and the Japanese versions of "DOZING GREEN" and "GLASS SKIN" as well as the single coupling track "HYDRA -666-" will be included additionally on the record.
The performance footage on the Blu-ray disc to be released at the same time, will include DIR EN GREY's concert at Nippon Budokan, held in January 2010 on two consecutive days. Also, the first press limited edition of the DVD will include a multi-angel performance of each member selected by them as well.
Moreover, DIR EN GREY will be performing at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL on November 11th, but only people who purchased the limited edition of their latest album "DUM SPIRO SPERO" will be able to participate in this special event.
Ticket sales for the event itself will start on October 22nd.

A remastered version aptly titled "UROBOROS [Remastered & Expanded]" brings you 14 tracks, now including the long version of 'SA BIR' that was only heard live before, the exclusive version of 'BUGABOO' that was previously only available on the limited first press analog release, 'DOZING GREEN' and 'GLASS SKIN' with Japanese lyrics, and 'HYDRA -666-' the coupling track on single "DOZING GREEN." With the the return of sound engineer Tue Madsen, who worked on the band's latest album "DUM SPIRO SPERO," the sound of "UROBOROS" is reborn.

Aoi, Moran, and more to release ’90s Visual Kei Cover Album!
Visual Kei fans get ready, because your favorite VK bands are coming together and releasing a cover album of hit rock songs from the 1990’s!
The album has been titled, “CRUSH! -90’s V-Rock best hit cover songs“, and it’s scheduled to hit shelves on November 23rd.
Some of the participating artists include Annie’s Black, R Shitei, OX, Gurudo, 9GOATS BLACK OUT, MEGAMASO, MORAN, and more. They will be covering classics like “Yurameki” by Dir en Grey, “Glacial Love” by Siam Shade, and “ROCKET DIVE” by hide with Spread Beaver, just to name a few.

Dir En Grey announce North American tour [july 20,2011]
Sorry, I should post this at july 20,2011..My Bad.
Japanese rock band Dir En Grey have announced a North American tour for this winter. The Birthday Massacre will be supporting throughout the tour. Dir En Grey will be touring to promote their Dum Spiro Spero album scheduled to be released August 2.
The translaion of the album title is “While I Breathe, I Hope,” a message the band wants to send to the world after the effects of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that ravaged their home country.

Dir En Grey face uncertainty about upcoming U.S. tour
Dir En Grey have released an open letter to fans about concerns they have on their upcoming North American tour. You can read the whole letter below.
“The earthquake this March took the lives of many people, including many Dir En Grey supporters. Now, in many places throughout the country, high radiation levels have been detected; everyone including ourselves has been exposed to the radiation and there are even some who say the contamination is so bad we are at risk to not be able to travel to the USA and other countries in the future.
On March 11th, the band was in the studio in Tokyo working on the new album when the earthquake hit. Afterwards the power shortages and transportation chaos caused further complications, and our many thoughts crossed our mind: “will this album really be completed?”; “will we ourselves be able to continue working towards the completion?”; and “is it right to continue making this album?
August 3rd 2011 is the release date of our new album Dum Spiro Spero. This normally would have been a wonderful day where our work was to be released out into the world. However, there are still many people in Japan suffering from the disaster and so with the intention of self-restraint, we will to refrain from words of joy on this occasion.
But we cannot stop moving forward due to this. We are currently in Japan now; however it is unclear to what extent the government’s statements are correct, and to be honest, no one really knows what is going on in Japan right now. The safety regulations for safe level of radiation exposure keep getting increased higher and higher, yet the only official announcement is that “there is no effect on health.” We can no longer tell whether we are a democratic nation. Unless you are careful with your words, you will be taken down with significant force. At this point we do not have the ability to truly find out what is occurring in our own country.
However, we want to know the truth. People are able to overcome huge obstacles and problems if they know the truth. In the album title ‘While I Breath I Hope,’ and our music video ‘Different Sense’ that we released just prior to the album, our sense of wanting to take action that will lead to a breakthrough in the current situation is reflected.
The beginnings of something as significant as the velvet revolution are said to have been in the ‘Prague Spring’ which was started by a rallying of people of culture. For all of you who have read this, we ask that you do what you can to support us in our search for the truth.”
The band plans to tour to promote their most recent album Dum Spiro Spero (Amazon MP3 | iTunes), released this past August 2. They have also released the official music video to the first single ‘Different Sense’. You can watch it here.

DIR EN GREY releases new version of “Mitsu to Tsuba” + launches official application for iPhone
On August 22nd, metal band DIR EN GREY released a new version of “Mitsu to Tsuba” on the iTunes Store.
“Mitsu to Tsuba” was originally a track from their 1999 album, “GAUZE“. The band has been experimenting with self-remakes, and they released a new version of “Tsumi to Kisei” through their “DIFFERENT SENSE” single earlier this year. Continuing this trend, the band introduced a new version of “Mitsu to Tsuba”, leaving fans in a tizzy over the song’s darker flavor.
Additionally, DIR EN GREY have also launched their official iPhone app! This contains unpublished photos from their photobook, “OUROBOROS“, hand-selected concert photos, and member interviews. The application costs 500 yen (approximately 7 USD).

On top of that, the app offers live photos from their domestic and overseas tour including shots from their appearance at music festivals. Carefully selected photos from the official photo book for sale only by mail order in Japan and unreleased photos are presented in realistic, sensational and uplifting feelings of DIR EN GREY’s live.
When you tap on a photo, you will be able to view the set list of each show. You also have the option to view photos as a slideshow and have access to checking out some band interview. Dir en Grey become regulars on NicoNico Douga
Rock band Dir en Grey may be gearing up for their world tour this fall and winter in the Americas, but before that occurs the band will be releasing a new album, “DUM SPIRO SPERO” on August 3rd.
It was also recently announced that the band will become regulars on NicoNico Douga monthly program ‘DIR EN GREY x Boo CHANNEL‘. The show will start at 20:00 the night before their album release.
Member, Die (G) will be the first member to appear on the first episode and will show clips from their lives and also talk about their new album.
Boo, who is a VJ on MTV will be the shows navigator.
