Kim Hyun Joong earns four awards at the ‘Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards’

Kim Hyun Joong was honored with four trophies at the ‘2011 Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards‘, proving once again that he’s the one of the leading Hallyu stars of Asia.

The awards ceremony takes in data gathered from Yahoo!’s search engine throughout the year to honor the hottest stars. Held at the Hong Kong Convention Center on the night of December 20th, Kim Hyun Joong came away with 56 million online votes, earning him the trophies of ‘Asia Top Buzz Solo Artist‘, ‘Korea Top Buzz Solo Artist‘, ‘Hong Kong Top Buzz Solo Artist‘, and ‘Taiwan Top Buzz Solo Artist‘. It was a special moment for fans, as it marked his 3rd consecutive year winning at the ceremony.

Kim Hyun Joong thanked his international fans in English upon receiving the awards. “I’d like to thank my fans for their endless love and support throughout my promotion. I hope to repay you with a better image next year.”

A Korean broadcasting official added, “Kim Hyun Joong earned great popularity with his solo promotions all year long. He’s made a name for himself not only as a singer, but also as an actor, all over Asia, and I predict that his popularity will only reach greater heights.”

Fellow K-Pop star Super Junior also came away with four awards at the same event.

Photos of Kim Hyun Joong’s ’90 degree bow’ exposed

Entertainer, Kim Hyun Joong who recently made a comeback with his 2nd mini-album, ‘Lucky‘ has gained attention for his respectful manners to his junior idols.

On October 21st, an online community board had several photos uploaded along with the heading, ‘Hyun Joong gives a 90 degree bow to Miryo‘.  In the top portion, you can see Kim Hyun Joong giving a deep bow to Brown Eyed Girl‘s Miryo during ‘MCountdown‘ on the 20th.

Even in the past, the singer has been acknowledged for his ’90 degree bow’ as he has always been the first to respectfully greet hoobaes and sunbaes alike.  Regardless if cameras were turned on or off, he has shown such superb respect without any signs of wavering.  From photos captured directly by fans, people were able to see his ’90 degree bow’ to 2pm, U-Kiss, and B2ST.

Netizens who witnessed the star’s exceptional manners left varying comments like, “I can’t help but compare him to some girl groups who have been under fire for their rude behaviors on broadcasts“, “Such a perfect man….how long are you going to put me under your spell?“, “You act the same way whether the cameras are on or off“, and “I’m so proud to be your fan“.

Kim Hyun Joong places 5th on Billboard World Album Chart

SS501‘s Kim Hyun Joong recently dropped his 2nd mini-album ‘Lucky‘ and made his comeback performance on Mnet’s M! Countdown with “Lucky Guy” on October 20th.

The mini album has been performing well on the charts in Korea, and now the single has placed 5th on Billboard’s World Album Chart.

Kim Hyun Joong’s Japan tour gets sold out, officials consider adding more concerts

It’s just been revealed that tickets for Kim Hyun Joong‘s Japan tour have sold out completely!

The tickets went on sale on September 20th through Kim Hyun Joong’s Japanese mobile site. Reportedly, the seats sold out almost immediately after they were released for purchase.

Approximately 90,000 fans rushed to the site to grab a ticket; those who weren’t able to purchase one flooded Kim Hyun Joong’s Japanese agency with phone calls requesting more concert dates. As a result, the agency is currently considering adding extra concert dates to the tour, which is already scheduled to hit seven cities across Japan.

The tour will see Kim Hyun Joong performing songs from his first mini-album, ‘Breakdown‘. Additionally, fans will also get to hear songs from his upcoming second mini-album, scheduled to hit stores sometime in the middle of October.

It’s also been revealed that the idol will participate in planning details for this special tour, raising the hype level of this exciting event. Stay tuned for more on Kim Hyun Joong’s Japan tour!

Kim Hyun Joong shared a story about when he asked for more meat at a free-sample stand.

Kim Hyun Joong joined Ock Ju Hyun as a guest on her radio program, KBS’s “Ock Ju Hyun’s Music Square”, where he proudly shared his love for the free-sample kiosks at markets. Kim Hyun Joong revealed that, “If there aren’t any meat left at the free-sample stand, I ask the worker to cook more.”

He continued, “I still purchase the product after I try it, though,” bringing laughter to the studio.

Later, he freely shared another hilarious story where his popularity forced him to jump off a tower. ”Once I went to the top of a bungee jumping tower out of curiosity, but the tourists around brought out their cameras and started chanting, ‘Kim Hyun Joong’, so I had no choice but to act cool and jump down”,.

In related news, Kim Hyun Joong has chosen to follow up his first single, “Break Down”, with the rhythmic dance song, “Kiss Kiss“. Kim Hyun Joong will perform and reveal “Kiss Kiss” for the first time on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on July 14th.
