Kikkawa Yu to release 1st album in January

On December 13th, Kikkawa Yu revealed that she’ll be releasing her first full-length album in January 2012!

Titled “One For You!“, the album will be available in two versions: ‘Regular’ and ‘Limited Edition’. The DVD in the limited edition comes with PVs like “Konna Watashi de Yokattara“ and “Hapirapi~Sunrise~“, as well as making-of clips. Additionally, the limited edition will include a lottery ticket to an event.

Kikkawa Yuu releases short PV for “Konna Watashi de Yokattara”

Kikkawa Yuu has just unveiled the short PV to her new single, “Konna Watashi de Yokattara“!

The PV differs from her earlier preview, which had natural shots of Kikkawa basking in the sunlight and dabbling with some domestic chores. The short PV, on the other hand, includes a quirky Polaroid reel mixed in with some choreography footage.

Kikkawa Yuu will be releasing her new single on December 28th. In the meantime, check out her video below.

Kikkawa Yuu sings ‘morning songs’ at PR event

On September 25th, singer Kikkawa Yuu held a release event for her upcoming single “Hapirapi ~Sunrise~“.

The song conveys the image of being a bright and vigorous person right after waking up in the morning. Kikkawa described herself as being such a person, calling herself a ‘morning-dol’, and traveled across the country with her ‘Hapirapi Gymnastics Campaign‘, to make sure that everyone stays healthy by dancing along to her song.

That day she also did some exercising with those who attended the event and performed two ‘morning songs’ from her seniors: Moritaka Chisato’s “La La Sunshine” and Morning Musume’s “Morning Coffee“.

About singing the songs from her admired seniors, she commented, “Of course I was nervous, but I’m also proud that I was able to sing those songs. I respect Moritaka a lot for being able to start out as a solo singer right from the beginning. She worked hard for her dream, so I’m glad I got to sing one of her songs.”

Kikkawa herself had her own solo debut in May of this year. At the event she talked about her ambitions, “I have become used to singing alone and it’s a very satisfying feeling to stand on stage all by myself, but I have to improve a lot of things with my singing. I should always aim for the top and work hard to reach there some day.”

A few days ago, tokyohive revealed the short PV for Kikkawa Yuu’s new song, “Hapirapi ~Sunrise~“. The full PV has finally been revealed, and it’s every bit as refreshing as the preview!
In the video, Kikkawa Yuu invites the viewer to her home, where they’re instantly captivated by her fresh and natural charm.

Kikkawa Yuu reveals jacket covers + track list for “Hapirapi~Sunrise~”

Kikkawa Yuu has revealed the jacket covers and track list for her upcoming single, “Hapirapi~Sunrise~“!

Kikkawa’s second single was used as the theme song for Nihon TV’s summer event “Shiodome Exhibition 2011“, which was held from July 22nd to August 21st.

The single will come in five versions: Limited Editions A through D, and a Regular Edition. The Limited Edition A will contain a DVD with the PV for “Hapirapi~Sunrise~”. The work will be released on September 21st.

Kikkawa Yuu to release photo book + solo DVD

It’s been revealed that Hello! Project’s Kikkawa Yuu will be releasing her first photo book and solo DVD on August 17th!

The photo book and DVD – titled “YOU” and “YOU ~The DVD~” respectively – were both shot under the shining sun in Okinawa. Kikkawa will be showing off her natural charms and swimsuit look, giving fans the chance to see a side of the 19-year-old that they haven’t seen before.

It ’s also been revealed that Kikkawa’s upcoming song “Hapirapi ~Sunrise~” will be the theme song for “Nippon TV Shiodome Expo 2011“. This expo is a huge summer event which hosts many pavilions and lives that may be enjoyed by people of all ages.
