SCANDAL surprises with new hairstyles for their nationwide hall tour

SCANDAL’s first ever national hall tour, ‘SCANDAL VIRGIN HALL TOUR “BABY ACTION”‘, kicked off on October 13th at the Kobe Cultural Hall in Hyogo prefecture.

All four members changed up their images with a fresh hairstyle, which surprised fans when they saw the girls come out, but they cheered wildly regardless. Leader HARUNA commented, “Just like our tour’s title says, we’ve come with a new kind of experience for everyone. Let’s make this an awesome night where we can push aside all our worries and the things that make us angry!” The girls ran across the beautiful stage and pumped up the local Kansai fans.

This 15-concert tour will last until December 1st concert at the Tokyo Nakano Sun Plaza. They even have a special Christmas concert lined up on December 22nd at the Osaka Namba Hatchi, in addition to their highly-anticipated Nippon Budokan debut on March 28th.

SCANDAL to hold their first Nippon Budokan live in 2012

Pop rock band SCANDAL have announced that they’ll be holding their first live performance at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan on March 28th, 2012!

This achievement will make SCANDAL the first girl band to perform at this prestigious venue in only five years and seven months since their formation. No other girl band achieved this in a shorter amount of time.

Leader Haruna commented, “It’s always been one of the biggest dreams for us as a band to perform at the Budokan.” She added, “We haven’t yet reached our goal, but we would like this concert to become a compilation of all the performances we have made so far! We want this to become the best night ever!”

This month, SCANDAL held their first Asia tour and performed in cities like Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. On October 3rd, they’ll kick off their Japanese tour “SCANDAL VIRGIN HALL TOUR ‘BABY ACTION’” at the Kobe Bunka Hall in Kobe, Hyogo. The concert at Budokan will be the grand finale of their tour.

SCANDAL to provide opening theme for “BLEACH”

For the second time, SCANDAL will be singing the opening theme song for the popular anime, “BLEACH“. This will be SCANDAL’s second time to provide a song for the anime, as their third single, “Shojo S“, served as its opening theme song back in 2009.

The new song that will be used as BLEACH’s opening theme song starting October 11th is titled “HARUKAZE“. It’s said to be a rock number that shows a different side of the girls.

Vocalist HARUNA commented, “We are very happy to sing the opening number for ‘BLEACH’ again!! We will do our best to liven up the anime with ‘HARUKAZE’!”

SCANDAL wraps up their successful ‘Asia Tour’ in Singapore

Pop-rock band SCANDAL successfully completed their first Asia tour, “SCANDAL ASIA TOUR 2011 ‘BABY ACTION’“, in Singapore on September 17th!

The tour had kicked off in Taiwan on the 11th, marking SCANDAL’s very first live in that country. The venue was crammed full with 550 fans, whose excitement was so vocal that that member HARUNA’s voice had disappeared amongst the crowd. Since September 11th was the six-month mark after the Tohoku Earthquake struck Japan, many Taiwanese fans donated funds to help with restoration efforts. HARUNA conveyed her feelings of gratitude, and fans yelled words of support saying, “Do your best!”

On the 12th, SCANDAL held a live in Hong Kong, attracting 1,200 fans, and finally, the group completed their Asia tour in Singapore with two concerts on the 16th and 17th. During the encore, the band sang “Shunkan Sentimental” in Japanese together with the fans.

SCANDAL will release their first PV collection this year.
The collection will be called "VIDEO ACTION", contains all PVs until now and will be released on the 28th of September.
It'll also contain a small documentary about the band.

SCANDAL to release their first PV collection!

Pop rock band SCANDAL has been gaining popularity with their third album, “BABY ACTION“, which hit stores on August 10th. It’s just been revealed that the band will be releasing a compilation of their music videos titled, “VIDEO ACTION“, on September 28th.

“VIDEO ACTION” the will come in both DVD and Blu-ray formats. Fans will be able to enjoy SCANDAL’s growth in this long-awaited PV collection.

SCANDAL’s mini concert under the blazing sun

On Sunday, popular pop rock band SCANDAL celebrated the release of their third album ‘BABY ACTION‘ with another free mini concert.

This time they had approximately 3,000 fans grooving to their music right outside the Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens shopping center in Yokohama.

A heat wave is currently making its way across the nation and leader HARUNA worried about their fans, “Is everyone doing okay?” she asked at one point.  Luckily, sufficient fans and bottles of water had been prepared, to ensure that noone suffered from heatstroke.

The four girls performed two songs, including, the very fitting, “Taiyo to Kimi ga Egaku Story“, which roughly translates to ‘The Story Drawn by You and the Sun’.

SCANDAL surprises fans with a guerrilla concert in Kabukicho

SCANDAL’s third album ‘BABY ACTION‘ went on sale today and the four girls surprised their fans with a guerrilla concert in Kabukicho, Tokyo.

Only the general location and time were announced via the band’s twitter shortly before the guerrilla concert. However, around 1,000 fans quickly discovered the stage in front at the Cine-City Plaza and gathered long before their actual performance. They might be stretching the definition of a guerrilla concert, but  nonetheless it was a wonderful performance under the blazing sun.

They immediately got the crowd grooving and performed two songs, their latest single “LOVE SURVIVE” and their debut song “DOLL“.

After the first song, leader HARUNA commented, “Living up to our band’s name ’scandal’, we really did it here in Kabukicho!”

HARUNA had another thing to celebrate that day, as she turned twenty-three and got surprised with a birthday cake on her part. She said, “It’s nice that the release day of our new album and my birthday are overlapping this time. I hope it will be another year full of music for me again.”

SCANDAL members perform “Uchimizu” in Akihabara

On July 31^st, girl rock band SCANDAL made a surprise appearance at uchimizu (Japanese custom to sprinkle water in streets) event, ‘Uchimizu Musume Daishuugou! 2011’ in Akihabara, Tokyo.

Member MAMI attended this event in a maid outfit as the producer (for a limited time) of maid cafe, “Pinafore”, and said, “It’s embarrassing but I didn’t think I could wear it so I am happy [to wear it]!”

In this 8^th annual event of uchimizu, various maids, voice actors, and mascot characters endorsed this act as a counter-measure for global warming. SCANDAL made their appearance along with other supporters and plans to “survive in the midsummer by conserving electricity”. Leader HARUNA, who also support conserving electricity, said, “Even in the house, I try not to turn on the A/C,” and explained her personal contributions with the others.

They will also be releasing their 3^rd album, “BABY ACTION” on August 10^th.

SCANDAL to hold a pajama party with fans over ‘Niconico Douga’

To celebrate the release of their new single “LOVE SURVIVE” and upcoming album “BABY ACTION“, girl band SCANDAL will be holding a listening party with their fans over Niconico Douga!

The live stream will take place on July 29th, 11:00 PM JST. Since the theme of the broadcast is “SCANDAL’s Pajama Party”, fans who tune in will not only be able to listen to new tracks from “BABY ACTION”, but they also get to see the girls in their pajamas! SCANDAL is also accepting questions about love from their fans via their official website, which will be answered during the broadcast.

SCANDAL will also broadcast an exclusive, 24-hour program through Can System. The program will be an entire day of SCANDAL songs, from some of their more well-known songs to tracks that have never been heard before.

[Exclusive] A little time with SCANDAL at AM2!

On July 3rd pop rock band, SCANDAL graced new anime convention, AM2 with their presence.  This is their first time back since 2008 and were ready to show their American fans just how much they’ve grown.

The girls had a packed schedule, as they only arrived in the afternoon the day before and had very little time to sight see Anaheim. They held a Q&A panel that Sunday morning and then had rehearsals to prepare for their come back concert that same night. But, before that the girls were able to sit down with us for a bit and give us some insight on their thoughts and feelings on coming back here, their new album, and what it was like to be animated.

SCANDAL to sing for upcoming 3D horror movie

SCANDAL’s new song, “BURN”, has become the theme song for 3D horror movie “Rabbit Horror 3D”, which features actress Mitsushima Hikari!

“Rabbit Horror 3D” tells a story of an older sister and a younger brother, who receive a stuffed rabbit doll from a 3D movie screen. Afterwards, the siblings encounter various unexplainable phenomenon throughout the movie. A Panasonic “AG-3DA1” -  the first two-in-one unit 3D camera – was used to shoot the film, allowing the audience to have a 3D experience that has never been seen before. Other actors and actresses for this movie include Kagawa Teruyuki, Omori Nao, and Ogawa Tamaki.

The song “BURN” is one of the new tracks from their upcoming album “BABY ACTION”, and was created specifically for this movie.

SCANDAL have also announced that they will be embarking on an Asia tour in September called, ‘SCANDAL ASIA TOUR 2011: BABY ACTION’, which includes stops in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The band also plans to open their Japanese tour called ‘SCANDAL VIRGIN HALL TOUR 2011: BABY ACTION’ in Hyogo prefecture’s Kobe Bunka Hall this October.

The movie will hit theaters on September 17th.

SCANDAL Releases Cover for 3rd Album "BABY ACTION"

SCANDAL, the most powerful Jrock band, recently released the cover art of the photobook edition for their 3rd album “BABY ACTION”. The cover features the girl band on their not so usual uniform, which is pretty rare for the group.

SCANDAL's “BABY ACTION” will include hits such as “Nanka Buttobase”, “Pride”, “Haruka” and “Love Survive” It will be available in three different versions: the Limited Edition Type A, CD+DVD Type B and Regular Edition Type C. Each costs 4200 yen, 3500 yen and 3059 yen respectively.

“BABY ACTION” will be released on August 10, 2011.
