Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri attends the preview screeing for “The Smurfs”

On August 30th, Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke (18) and Chinen Yuri (17) attended a preview screening event for movie “The Smurfs”, which the two participated in with voice acting.
At this event held at TOHO Cinemas, the two walked on a ‘blue carpet’ to match the theme of the blue smurfs from the movie and Yamada gave a high-five to the fans as a service and said, “I was successfully able to walk like a Hollywood star.” On the other hand, Chinen commented after hearing the screams of his female fans, “Oh god! I am nervous,” and expressed his feelings to the reporters.
As this was Yamada’s first time to voice act, he said, “When I watched the film, I thought to myself, ‘Is that really my voice?’” and gave his honest opinion regarding his voice acting.

Hey! Say! JUMP to sing theme song for Japanese dub of “The Smurfs”

It has been reported that Hey! Say! JUMP’s new song, “Magic Power“, will be the theme song for the Japanese dub of the animated movie, “The Smurfs“.
As we reported earlier, Hey! Say! JUMP members Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri will be voice acting for the main cast. Yamada will provide the voice for Clumsy, and Chinen will provide the voice forBrainy. The boys are expected to liven up the movie with their voice and song.
“Magic Power” was written along the theme of the movie, and has a motown sound that will make people happy just by listening to it. Using the Smurf’s saying, “Even if we are small, we can do anything if we work together!“, as the theme, the song conveys a “magic power” that is created by the bonds of friendship.
The Smurfs is a story of small blue creatures, first serialized as comic strips in newspapers by the Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford in 1958. After more than half a century, The Smurfs will appear on the big screen in 3D, utilizing live-action and animation.
Hey! Say! JUMP’s “Magic Power” is scheduled to be released in September, and the movie will begin airing in Japan on September 9th.
