AKB48’s Oshima Yuko is the latest cover girl of fashion magazine “JJ”!

The December issue of “JJ” saw AKB48’s Oshima Yuko as the cover girl for the first time with this fashion magazine.

Oshima teasingly poses with a fur coat to cover her nude body. She recently welcomed her 23rd birthday and in this magazine, she climbs the steps of adulthood with her gravia shots.

In her interview session, which was titled “This side of Oshima Yuko has never been seen!”, “JJ” asks for her stance on fashion, beauty, and love. She even talks about how she would like to walk around with her future husband, hand-in-hand “without using glasses and a hat”, which leads to her discussing her concerns about celebrity life as well.

This issue also features AKB48’s Sashihara Rino’s first appearance in this magazine and even a section on how to be like actress/talento Saeko!

AKB48’s Oshima Yuko meets her wax doppelganger at ‘Madame Tussauds Tokyo’

On October 19th, a life-sized copy of AKB48’s Oshima Yuko was presented at ‘Madame Tussauds Tokyo‘ at Decks Tokyo Beach.

This attraction exhibits various wax figures of international celebrities, and allows its visitors to actually touch them. When seeing her wax doppelganger standing next to Lady Gaga and Johnny Depp, Oshima exclaimed in excitement, “This is amazing!”

To make this figure, the staff flew all the way to Japan and measured Oshima’s body in 200 areas. It took three months to build, and is estimated to cost about 19 million yen (approximately $250,000 USD). Made out of wax and glass fiber, the clone wears the outfit from AKB48’s “Kohaku Uta Gassen” appearance in 2009.

Oshima said shyly, “It was embarrassing to have my body get examined,” and continued, “Please go ahead, give it a hug and enjoy it.” Since she turned 23 on October 17th, Oshima also expressed, “I want to change so that people will start to look at me more as a mature woman.”

Oshima’s figure will be showcased until January 4th.

AKB48’s Ohshima Yuko becomes an official ‘Final Fantasy XIII-2′ beta tester

AKB48’s Ohshima Yuko has officially become one of many beta testers for the upcoming Square Enix game, “Final Fantasy XIII-2“. She is also the new face of the FFXIII-2 commercial, which will start airing on October 15th (JST).

Oshima entered the Square Enix building in a gray pants-suit and was handed an official name card and a “FF13-2 Development ROM“.

The AKB48 idol professed that she’s a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series, and was honored to be one of 13 official beta-testers, who go by the name ‘Judge XIII‘. She also wrote in a manifest that they, ‘Judge XIII’, will write their honest thoughts and reviews of the game as they go through it.

A campaign site will be established for ‘Judge XIII’, and if enough fans “like” the website, Ohshima will cosplay as a character and hold an event with the company.

The game will be available on December 15th in Japan, January 31st, 2012 in North America, and February 3, 2012 in Europe.

Maeda Atsuko’s, Oshima Yuko’s, and Jang Geun Suk’s cool CM for TBC revealed!

On September 7th, aesthetic brand TBC unveiled their cool and mysterious CM featuring Maeda Atsuko (20), Oshima Yuko (22), and Jang Geuk Suk (24).
In the CM, the three celebrities are featured in a different setting but end up with the same key and same door.
This CM is expected to have a continuation as well.

Karina, Yoshitaka Yuriko, & AKB48’s Oshima Yuko team up for new Getsu9 drama

Model/actress Karina (27) will be starring in a new ‘Getsu9′ drama titled, “Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu“. Slated to start in October,  Karina will co-star with Yoshitaka Yuriko (23) and AKB48’s Oshima Yuko (22).

This drama will revolve around three girls: ‘Fujii Emi’ (Karina), ‘Ogura Saki’ (Yoshitaka), and ‘Hanzawa Mako’ (Oshima).

To start, ‘Fujii Emi’ is a girl who can’t forget her ex-boyfriend. She thinks that being treated as a “guy’s girl” is comfortable, but she wants to feel  real love inside. ‘Ogura Saki’ (Yoshitaka) failed to find a job, and ended up working at a hostess bar.  Although she gives lectures to Emi and Mako about love, she has never loved anyone seriously. Finally, we have ‘Hanzawa Mako’ (Oshima), who annoys men because of her serious and heavy personality; her efforts in love were also fruitless.

These girls start living together by chance, and navigate as a group through their worries about love, career, and marriage, by comforting and fighting with one another.

Since this will be the first time for Karina to take the lead role on ‘Getsu9′, she commented, “I felt surprised and nervous at the same time, however, I felt a bigger happiness!  There were many points where I sympathized with the story, and I would like to follow those feelings by applying my character’s worries and thoughts to myself. I will think hardly about love during this series, and hopefully, it will make me grow more!!”

Aside from those three girls, Tanaka Kei (27), Kurashina Kana (23), Nakao Akiyoshi (23), Kagami Seira (24), Nakamura Ryu (34), Katsumura Masanobu (48), Hagiwara Masato (40), and Inamori Izumi (39) will also make their appearances in the drama.

‘Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu’ will air during the ‘Getsu9′ timeslot of Mondays at 9PM through Fuji TV.

Maeda Atsuko, Oshima Yuko, and Jang Geun Suk to appear in new CM for TBC

On August 24th, AKB48’s Maeda Atsuko, Oshima Yuko, and Korean actor Jang Geun Suk attended a product launch event for aesthetic brand TBC.

Standing in between the two girls, Jang blushed as he said, “They’re very cute. I’m quite embarrassed to be in between them. Fans of AKB48, I’m sorry.” Meanwhile, Maeda and Oshima complimented him saying, “He’s tall, and he has a nice personality, ” and “He’s friendly, and he has a very handsome appearance. It’s actually the other way around, I apologize to his fans.”

In the past, Kimura Takuya, David Beckham, Victoria Beckham, and Nakata Hidetoshi were chosen as the brand’s character. Maeda, who says she received beauty care before the conference, said, “When I touch my skin, the softness is amazing.” Oshima also commented, “My face has brightened up one tone,” and expressed her mature look with, “We’ve never has this kind of image before, so I’m embarrassed.”

While Jang rushed to the event on a private jet from Osaka, he envied the two saying, “I wanted to receive beauty care today.” Then he smiled and said, “I will do my best as a forefront for Korean and Japanese men to become handsome.”

The main image billboard that will be displayed in 200 places nationwide starting August 25th was presented at the event. Seeing this, Maeda commented, “I didn’t think it would look this mature, so I’m happy.” Meanwhile, Jang joked, “If this goes up, I won’t be able to do my shuffle dance in Shibuya.”

TBC’s new CM will broadcast starting September 7th. With the theme, “open your beauty“, the three will uncover their mysterious adult charms.

Which artist looks the best in swimwear?

Recochoku recently held a poll asking its users who they think looks the best in swimwear.
The poll was divided into female and male categories. Coming in first for women is AKB48’s Oshima Yuko. When asked why they chose Oshima, voters replied, “She is bright and cheerful, like the summer sun,” “She has exceptional style,” and “Her figure suits swimwear in her PVs, magazines, and photobooks.”
First place in the men’s category is EXILE’s TAKAHIRO. Voters commented, “He is refreshing, and he has an image that suits the ocean,” “He has great muscles, and he’s sexy,” and “He trains his body, and he is tanned.”
