Sasaki Nozomi, Itano Tomomi, Becky, Yonekura Ryoko, and Rinka receive “Japan Fashion Leader Award 2011″

On December 6th, publishing company Takarajimasha announced the winners for the “Japan Fashion Leader Award 2011“.

This year, the award went to AKB48’s Itano Tomomi, models Rinka and Sasaki Nozomi, talento Becky, and actress Yonekura Ryoko.

During the award ceremony, Sasaki expressed, “To be given such an award, and to be among these wonderful winners, I’m happy. I’m very honored.” Itano also stated, “I love fashion and dressing up, so I’m very happy to receive this particular award out of all the awards out there.”

Actor Tanihara Shosuke, who served as the host of the event, blushed as he praised Sasaki. “I’ve played the role of Sasaki-san’s lover in ‘Tenshi no Koi’, but she has polished herself as a woman since then, making me want to get even closer to her. Nozomi has become so pretty…“, he said.

Meanwhile, Becky showed her gratitude saying, “I’m very happy. I loved fashion since I was young, so I’ve never cut corners with work. Thank you very much.” Rinka, who recently gave birth to her first baby, received the award for the third time. Through a video message, she commented, “I feel very honored. I’ve given birth to a healthy baby boy, and I’m now living a happy life. I hope to appear in front of everyone again.”

Previous winners of the award include Hirosue Ryoko, Ryo, Kuroki Meisa, Nakatani Miki, and Nagasaku Hiromi.

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi diagnosed with gastroenteritis

On October 31, 2011 it was revealed that AKB48 member, Itano Tomomi, has been diagnosed with a gastroenteritis.

According to her agency, Itano complained about fever and stomach ache on Sunday morning. Upon getting examined at a hospital on Tokyo, the idol was diagnosed with the stomach flu. Her condition isn’t serious, but she will have to stay home until she gets better.

On Saturday, Itano still participated in a big handshake event with AKB48 at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo. Officials guess that the long and exhausting event, mixed with the cold weather, must have strained her body too much.

Itano Tomomi shows off her no make-up face

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi recently uploaded a photo of herself with no make-up on her official blog.

Itano introduced the picture saying, “My face is plain but…“, giving fans a chance to see different side of her. In the picture, Itano shows a peace sign with a cute and innocent expression.

Fans were stunned by her natural beauty as they commented, “Too cute,” “Bare face and this quality…” and, “I’m falling in love.”

Itano Tomomi’s agency denies the suspension of her singing activities

Recently, it was reported that AKB48’s Itano Tomomi will be suspending her singing activities due to inflamed vocal chords. On September 5th, both Itano’s agency and recording company denied these reports on their official websites.

After visiting a doctor last month, Itano admitted to having vocal chord nodules. Her agency explained, “she has been working to her possible extent,“ while receiving medical treatment. They also wrote, “We are doing our best for her full recovery without having to suspend singing activities, like the reports say.”

Meanwhile, Itano also reported on her blog on the 5th saying, “I’m sorry to have caused everyone to worry about my throat. In order to recover quickly, I will refrain from using my voice! My body is healthy though.”

Itano Tomomi to suspend singing activities due to inflamed vocal cords

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi has announced that she’ll be suspending her singing activities for a while.

According to her agency HoriPro, Itano developed a vocal cord nodule and a minor case of Chorditis (or inflammation of the vocal cords). It will take approximately three to four weeks for a full recovery.

On September 4th, Itano made an appearance at AKB48’s handshake event in the Nagoya Dome. Though she didn’t perform with her group mates, she still participated in the handshake event. Later, Itano blogged, “I’m sorry that I couldn’t speak much at the handshake event. I hope I  recover fully soon!”

The following day, she wrote a more formal apology on her blog, which read: “I’m sorry to cause everyone to worry about my throat. In order to recover quickly, I will refrain from using my voice.”

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi snaps a shot with Goto Maki at a-nation!

With a-nation festivities kicking off and the 48-family becoming partially part of avex, it was only natural to have some cute interactions between the two.

The latest one features AKB48’s Itano Tomomi and avex soloist Goto Maki. Goto Maki is a former member of Morning Musume and was the ace of the group during their ‘golden era’. Many of the current AKB48 members have listed her as a source of inspiration and admiration, so it no surprise that Itano would be excited to snap a 2-shot with her very own idol.

In addition to Goto, Itano also took some pictures with her dancers and AKB48 little sister group NMB48, who’re also participating in a-nation. Itano wrote, “I love Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo (NMB48’s single)! Someone get me the CD Haha. I wonder if I can get it even though I don’t have black hair? Haha”.

Itano also showed how grateful she is to her fans, especially the female ones, “I was happy to hear all of the high-pitched voices giving a Tomochin call *_* <3”, a ‘call’ is when the fans scream the artist’s name, usually before they come out on stage. “Thanks for being so pumped up for me everyone. Make sure you guys don’t catch a cold from the rain!!”

Itano Tomomi’s grown-up childishness in ‘Young Magazine’

The latest issue of the popular ‘Young Magazine‘ featured AKB48’s Itano Tomomi in yet another beautiful pictorial.

The pictures start with a summery set, showing us Itano wearing a happi coat and enjoying a juicy watermelon, all while conveying little bit of her newfound adult charms.

The sunflowers compliment her innocent beauty just before she sends us into the jungle, and eventually into heaven with her sweet and gorgeous bikini figure.

In the last two pictures, she nicely mixes the charms of a twenty-year-old young woman and the youthfulness of a girl in her teens. She says that never wants to lose that certain amount of childishness that makes her the person that she is, and we can’t blame her for that.

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi plays with a puppet in a new CM

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi will be playing two roles in her new ‘Ito Yokado’ CM. Itano will speak the Kansai dialect while playing with a puppet for Ito Yokado’s “Body Heater” product.
When Itano arrived on set and saw the puppet, she exclaimed, “It’s so cute!! I want to take it home with me!” Even during the breaks, Itano was seen hugging and talking to the puppet. “Thanks to the puppet, I was able to have fun while recording,” she said.
Itano was also asked about what she thinks this autumn’s fashion will be like. “Fall colors are grey, black, and navy blue. I hope my favorite colors will be in style and on items this year. I particularly recommend the grey Body Heater I was wearing during this recording. When it gets colder, I definitely want to wear a body heater and head to my favorite amusement park”.
The ‘Puppet’ CM will air nationwide on August 10th.

Itano Tomomi holds a mini-live for 5,000 fans!

On August 6th, AKB48’s Itano Tomomi (20), held an event called ‘LiVE Tomo‘ to celebrate her latest release at the Yomiuri Land Open Theater EAST. Usually, Itano dresses up in girlish fashions, but today, she wore an elegant yukata.
Smiling, she greeted her fans with, “It sure is hot, isn’t it? Today, let’s create some summer memories together”. Itano performed a total of four songs, including her new song, “Fui ni”.
Itano performed in front of 5,000 fans wo were selected via lottery. The fans got to enjoy an amazing performance that had the theme of a festival, as the stage was decorated with paper lanterns and red and white noren.
Itano happily commented, “Since this event has the theme of a summer festival, I decided to wear a yukata. I want to play a game with all of my fans too. Also, it’s gotten hot, but let’s have fun today until the very end!”

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi reveals she has vocal cord nodules

On July 28th, AKB48 member Itano Tomomi revealed through her official blog that she was diagnosed with vocal cord nodules.

She wrote, “This whole month I was thinking my voice was hoarse…it seems that I have vocal cord nodules.” She added, “I am worried that it won’t heal that quickly. For now, I would like some rest.”

Vocal cord nodules are condition where the two vocal cords comes in contact and creates friction, thus making one’s voice hoarse and hinders the ability to sing in higher pitches.

The fans expressed their concern with, “Take care of yourself”, “I hope your voice is healed before any event… Take care”, “I wish for Tomochin’s speedy recovery and health (>_<) Take care…”, and “Are you ok (>_<)? I am really worried and I hope you get better soon!!”.

Itano Tomomi tops the Weekly Oricon Chart for the first time!

AKB48’s Itano Tomomi released her second single “Fui ni” on July 13th and today’s Weekly Oricon Chart revealed that it snatched first place with 90,000 copies sold in its first week.

Itano is the second solo-artist out of AKB48 to top the Oricon chart after Maeda Atsuko with “FLOWER” in the July 4th ranking of Oricon.

Furthermore, “Fui ni” is currently being used as the theme song for the “Samantha Thavasa” commercials.

Itano’s first single, “Dear J“, sold more copies during its first week, but didn’t manage to take first place when it was released back in January.

Itano Tomomi celebrates her birthday with “Scawaii”!

AKB48 member Itano Tomomi made the front page of fashion “Scawaii” for the first time in the August issue!

The cute idol has graced the covers of fashion magazines before, but Scawaii is known as the “older sister” to fashion magazine “Cawaii” for its more mature sense of style. The theme of growing to adulthood also extends to Tomochin’s spread, where she bewitches with her simple yet stunning coordinates.

Model Fujii Lena appears as well to show off her clothing wishlist for fall, followed by singer-songwriterJASMINE in her regular column, “JASMINE RESCUE”.
