Performances from 2011 MBC Gayo Daejaejun (Part 3)

It’s New Year’s Eve in Korea, and what better way to send off 2011 than with a livey music show with this year’s top artists!

MBC drew together a formidable list of performers this year, along with a beloved cast of MCs from their popular reality show, ‘We Got Married‘.Eunjung, Lee Jang Woo, Ga-In, Jo Kwon, Victoria, Nichkhun, Kang Sora, and Leeteuk all led the ceremonies this year with their respective ‘spouses’.

Artists were divided into two teams, Blue and White. Throughout the show, viewers cast their votes through text messages for their favorite team, and the winner was revealed at the end of the show.

4minute’s HyunA selected as ‘sexiest idol’ by fellow idols

This week’s MBC Everyone ‘Weekly Idol‘ will reveal the results of their new poll, ‘SO HOT! Breathtaking Real Sexy Idol BEST 10‘.

Idol groups such as INFINITE, B2ST, T-ARA, SISTAR, Brown Eyed Girls, and more participated in the poll and the idols themselves picked who they feel to be the top 10 sexiest idols in the industry. The nominees included the likes of original sexy icons G.NA, 2PM‘s Taecyeon, and Big Bang‘s T.O.P as well as f(x)‘s Krystal, INFINITE‘s Hoya, and SHINee‘s Jonghyun.

4minute‘s HyunA received an overwhelming number of votes, securing her title as the sexiest female idol in the industry. She not only received the votes of her label mates including B2ST‘s Yong Jun Hyung, Yoon Doojoon and 4minute’s Jiyoon, but she was also acknowledged by the members of After School, INFINITE, FT  Island, and more.

SISTAR’s Hyorin praised HyunA saying, “Mature and sexy for her age,” and INFINITE’s Sungjong added, “She has an intensely captivating stare.”

HyunA who has recently debuted as a member of unit ‘Trouble Maker‘ has been confirmed by her peers as the nation’s sexiest idol star. On the episode that airs at 2:00PM on the 10th, the singer will reveal her personal thoughts on the poll results.

4minute’s HyunA makes it onto Billboard’s ’21 Under 21′

Every year, Billboard.com publishes a feature titled ’21 Under 21′, showcasing the staff’s top picks for the world’s hottest underage stars. With the Wonder Girls showcased at 16th place last year, 4minute‘s HyunA continues the WG legacy by ranking 17th on the 2011 list.

Aside from a minor date error in the last sentence, Billboard captured the singer’s appeal in a one-page feature.  Check out what they had to say:

Why She’s Hot: Nineteen-year-old South Korean pop singer HyunA got her start with pop girl group Wonder Girls in 2007. After overcoming health issues, she left the group to become lead rapper and vocalist of 4minute and embarked on her own solo career. But HyunA’s career really took off when she became the star of her own show. 2010 saw the debut of her first single “Change,” and in July of 2011 she released her first mini-album “Bubble Pop!,” the video for which was deemed “too sexy” for some Korean TV outlets. The controversial star displays a sexiness and stage presence far beyond her years, and is well on her way to becoming one of the key faces of the global K-Pop movement. HyunA, now a fixture in South Korean pop culture, is set to perform on the Korean version of “Dancing With the Stars” in June 2012.

Unsurprisingly, the list was topped by Justin Bieber, followed by stars including Selena Gomez (#5), Demi Lovato (#7), Willow Smith (#14), Greyson Chance (#15) and Miley Cyrus (#21).

4minute greets fans in bright hanboks

 

On September 9th, girl group 4minute greeted their fans in gorgeous hanboks as they shared their holiday messages.

For this year’s Chuseok holiday, the girls wished for several things. First off, Jihyun shared, ” I wish for my brother, who just joined the army, to stay healthy and strong. I also wish that our 4minute members live happy and healthily like we do now for as long as possible.”  Gayoon cutely added, ” I hope I don’t get fat after eating a lot of Chuseok food“.  Similarly, the other members wished for peace and good health.
In addition, the girls sent out messages to their fans and shared their plans for the holiday.  HyunA said, ” If I get a break, I’d like to spend some time with my family.  I will probably be able to meet a lot of fans through the upcoming Chuseok programs on TV. I hope you guys eat a lot of delicious food and enjoy the holiday.”
Jiyoon also shared, ” If I get a break, Id like to go on a vacation or eat yummy food.  I’d also like to meet my friends and most importantly, I want to spend time with my family.  We will also work harder to impress our fans.”
In the photos, the girls are seen bowing down humbly in bright hanbok which enhances their pure and innocent features.

Who did HyunA tweet, “I really, really like you” to?

Sexy singer HyunA recently received attention for tweeting, “I really, really like you. But why do you keep running away from me huh?? Huh?!?!…♥♥♥♥“. Along with the tweet, she posted a picture.

Who was the recipient of this tweet? Well, it wasn’t a person – it was actually her cat! In the attached picture (below), HyunA is seen clinging on to her cat. The cat seems like it wants to break free from HyunA’s loving grip. HyunA is dressed in white, portraying a pure and innocent image veering away from her normal, sexy stage appearance.

Fan’s who came across this picture commented, “Cat lover. Lucky cat“, “I want your cat!“, and “You’re so pretty HyunA!“.

Sohyun reveals a picture from the dance studio

4minute’s Sohyun has revealed a cute selca from the dance studio!
On August 31st, the group maknae tweeted, “As you can see in the mirror, I am practicing ‘In the cube’~” and uploaded a picture of herself in the dance studio. In the picture, Sohyun poses cutely as she points to the CUBE Entertainment logo.
Netizens commented, “Such a cute selca”, “So pretty and cute”, and “You must be working hard”.

4minute’s HyunA becomes a pole dancer for ‘GQ’

4minute’s HyunA recently participated in a photoshoot for men’s magazine ‘GQ‘, using a pole as a prop.
Dressed in form-fitting, glamorous outfits, HyunA revealed her sexiest look yet. The added effect of her prop and her piercing gaze only amplified that appeal.
Netizens commented, “HyunA looks the best with her sexy image”, “She can give off such different charms with just one pole”, and “That magazine is going to sell well this month.”

B2ST and 4minute depart for United Cube concert in Japan

Idol groups B2ST and 4minute were recently spotted at Gimpo airport, as they headed for the United Cube concert in Japan. The show will be held at the Budokan in Tokyo on August 25th.

The artists from Cube Entertainment will also be the first Korean singers to perform in London’s Wimbledon Arena on November 19th.

United Cube Concerts are different from other idol shows, because they are held more like festivals than large-scale concerts. Concertgoers can expect to see performances from 4minute, B2ST, G.NA and other members of the Cube Entertainment family.

Doojoon and G.NA will leave on a later flight due to other schedules.

Performances from ‘K-POP All Star Live in Niigata’ concert!!

On August 20th, MBC hosted the ‘K-POP All Star Live in Niigata‘ concert in Japan for their 50th anniversary, which boasted a brilliant line-up of the top K-Pop artists in the industry.

12 K-Pop groups - TEEN TOP, INFINITE, SISTAR, SECRET, KARA, CNBLUE, 2PM, 2AM, SNSD,B2ST, 4minute, and Norazo – performed to a wild crowd of Hallyu fans who got to see not only their favorite idols, but some special stages as well.
