Drama Prime Time Report – July 22nd~24th

You better not make NANA (Kojima Haruna) your enemy. ("Ikemen desu ne")
The ‘Drama Prime Time Report’ for the Weekend is here and let’s look at the couple of question marks that have been raised after the previous ratings, especially at the problematic danso dramas.
On Friday the second episode of “Ikemen desu ne” aired, one of three ‘danso’ dramas this season, and the team can be relieved that the ratings didn’t experience a huge nose dive like “Hana Kimi 2011“. Instead it remained steadfast at around 11%, improving by 0.1% compared to last week. Another ‘danso’ drama premiered at midnight on TBS, “Ouran High School Host Club“, starring Kawaguchi Haruna and Yamamoto Yusuke, but it looks like three is two too many. It had the worst start compared to all dramas, especially compared to the other midnight and late-night dramas, with an initial rating of only 1.1%.
Ratings... *danso-sigh* ("Ouran Host Club")
No ‘danso’-madness on Saturday, but the beginning of Fuji TV’s “FNS 27 Hour TV“-madness with the “Mecha-Mecha Iketeru!” comedy duo ‘Ninety-Nine‘ as the main hosts. Only TV Asahi had an ace up their sleeves against the special, while TBS and NTV just tried to hang in there as good as possible. Of course this also means that the drama “Don Quixote” lost quite a lot of viewers this week. Later that day, NHK aired the first episode of their drama “Kingyo Club“, starring Irie Jingi and Kariya Yuiko. 2.7% watched the new drama.
“FNS 27 Hour TV” continued its domination during the Sunday prime time, but surprisingly NHK’s taiga drama “Gou” found the slipstream behind Fuji TV and recovered its ratings back up to 18.9%. ‘Danso’ drama “Hana Kimi 2011″ didn’t really benefit a lot from the huge TV special as its lead-in, but at least the ratings improved by 1.9%. However, 7.9% is still nothing you can brag about. “Hanawake no Yon Shimai” almost repeated last week’s ratings.
Viewers after watching "Yuusha Yoshihiko"!

NHK, TBS and TV Tokyo usually don’t disclose the ratings for their shows on a regular basis, therefore they won’t be included in the list below. Certain dramas or drama specials that aired on those channels and might lack ratings are still included with a ??.?% rating. This doesn’t mean that the ratings were too low to recorded.
Improvements and declines will be illustrated with the use of several icons. The colors and the numbers indicate how much the ratings have changed.
An orange color means almost no change, while a red color means the ratings dropped, and a green color means the ratings improved.
