AKB48’s Fujie Reina is feeling better and promotes her new photobook!

On August 6th, AKB48’s Fujie Reina held a commemoration handshake event for her first photobook “Reina Fujie Reina’s First Photobook”. She appeared looking better than ever, after an incident in late July where fellow member Minegishi Minami accidentally hit her eye with a microphone. The doctors said it would take her eyelid around a month to fully heal, but recently Fujie appeared at AKB48’s nationwide tour feeling much better. She stated, “It has already healed. I’m glad that the members and fans who worried about me congratulated me on my recovery”.
Moving on to her photobook, Fujie explained that photographing for this book was the first time she had ever been to Saipan. There is a shot of her wearing rabbit ears and a pink wig, showing a cute and youthful expression. She smiled widely, “Before I entered AKB, I wanted to become an idol and have my own photobook, so I’m glad that my dream has come true”.
Looking back and sharing her thoughts on taking photos in a swimsuit she commented, “When I first took off the hoodie and made eye contact with the camera man I became really nervous, no matter how much time passes, I’ll never get used to (photographing) in a swimsuit”. Her eyes shined as she explained her next goal, “I want to be a teen magazine model!” Fujie also has a lot interest in fashion, “I buy shirts for 2,000 yen (~25 USD) a piece and I like trying to find cheap things. I’m an idol, so I’m told that’s weird, but I love Shimamura”.
