It’s been revealed that AKB48’s Maeda Atsuko will be starring in Marumiya Foods‘ new CM series, “Kazoku no Ochazuke“.
Ochazuke is a Japanese dish that is simply made by pouring hot green tea or dashi (broth) over rice with toppings. “Kazoku no Ochazuke” is an instant form for an even simpler preparation. It looks like furikake (dry condiments) that is sprinkled over rice, then finished with hot water.
In the CM, Maeda plays a college student who leaves home to live alone. Wearing a chiffon blouse and red shorts, she listens to a voice message on her cell phone from her mom while on her way home. At the front door, she finds a box that was sent by her mother. When Maeda opens the box, she finds “Kazoku no Ochazuke”, and immediately starts eating ochazuke. While eating the ochazuke, she feels her mother’s love, and starts crying. Maeda commented, “I feel like I played Maeda Atsuko if she wasn’t an AKB48 idol. It was fun.”
Regarding her crying scene, Maeda expressed, “I thought about my mom. She is always by my side, so whenever I’m alone, I think that my mom is very important.” Meanwhile, she commented on her mom by saying, “She is very important. Important, an admiration, and a friend. When I go out, I usually go out with my mom.”
Additionally, when asked, “Which AKB48 member is most like a mother?“, she answered, “It’s Takamina (Takahashi Minami). She worries about things a lot. The way she worries about things is more like a father than a mother.”
The new CM will broadcast starting early October. In the meantime, check out still shots and behind-the-scene photos from the CM below!
