On September 9th, X JAPAN kicked off their South American tour at Teatro Caupolican in Chile where 4,000 fans gathered to enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
This marked X JAPAN’s very first concert in South America. The local media gathered to get the scoop on the concert, there were fans lined up as far as 1km from the entrance. Fans that were first in line shared that they spent three sleepless nights to hold their spots.
The set list started off similar to the one from their North American tour. The kick-off live turned out to be a very exciting one as Yoshiki took two stage dives into the crowd. During their final song, “X“, the fans participated in the ‘X Jump’, literally shaking the venue. This proved the ’universal language’ of the ’X Jump’, it connects the band to their fans.
Although Chile has a tragic background from the earthquake in February 2010, a sense of unity filled the venue. During the encore, the audience sang their national anthem, which gave the band an opportunity to experience something new.
X JAPAN will perform in Sao Paolo, Brazil on September 11th.
