Shinoda Mariko (25) of popular idol group AKB48 attended Roppongi Hills‘ Christmas Lighting Ceremony on November 8th. Shinoda showed up wearing around 70 million yen (~900,788 USD)’s worth of jewelry and a light pink dress.
Feeling relief upon completing her important task, Shinoda reflected, “I see this every year, so when I was asked to take this position, I was really excited. I’ve been so nervous up until now, so I’m glad it all finished without any problems.”
Shinoda, who often goes to see the lights, was asked who she wanted to go see them with. “Well, with the members. It’s also a famous date spot, so I wonder if it would be nice to come as a couple,” she said. She was also asked about her plans for Christmas, “The members have a party every year, but this year our schedules are kind of all over the place, so I don’t know if we’ll be able to do it…”
